The weather looks half decent this weekend for boating, so it may be worth a shot. That’s of course if you’re not in Tackleworld Hervey Bay grabbing a bargain!

The grass sweetlip are starting to get a good size over on the Arti at the moment, along with blackall and also Venus tuskfish. Blackall and grass sweetlip are getting caught all around the patchy light reefs in Gatakers Bay. You can also try your luck on the troll for a coral trout. Reports are that they are a great table size at the moment.

Lenthalls Dam is still going strong, producing some great barra and bass on Cultiva poppers and also River2Sea Turbo Props. Early morning is the time to go, and take care when going in on the road, as it can get quite corrugated at times.

Weed has hampered fishing efforts this week on the island, although tailor have been caught in the clearer areas. Whiting and dart are around Waddy Point, with some nice Jew around at night.
