With heaps of extra boats on the water, and northerly winds, catches have been fairly spasmodic. Those who fish office hours are getting a good tan and not much else.

On the reefs, at daybreak, a few coral bream and blackall make up the majority of catches. Tuna and mackerel are very scarce at the moment.

Along the beaches there are just the odd whiting and occasional flathead. In the rivers, salmon to 110cm have been giving those in the know a good workout.

Dave (Mad Dog) managed a couple of days fishing using plastics, and finished up releasing heaps of flathead, a couple of 45cm snapper, a queenfish and a 15kg giant trevally. Not a bad effort, with flick baits giving the best results.
