The wind is still persisting in the SE direction, hampering a lot of fishing at the moment. Your best chance out in the boat is early morning, before the wind gets up.

With the Hervey Bay Family Fishing Comp on, everyone must take care when boating on the water. Check that your safety gear is up to date and that you log on with VMR 466.

Whiting, bream and flathead are the live species this year, with flathead being a live only species. Come down and talk to the boys at Tackleworld Hervey Bay if you have any questions on keeping your fish alive. We have great prices on aerators, which are a must.

The Artificial Reef will be the place for coral bream and blackall, with the channel hole and the rocks around Little Woody also a good chance. Try NU2 for golden trevally, using live bait.

Whiting, bream and flathead are a good chance around the mouth at River Heads and Point Vernon.

Good luck all who are in the fishing comp this year. There are some great prizes on offer.
