Reports are saying trevally are on the inside flats off Fraser taking fresh baits and flies. Throughout the bay system northern bluefin tuna and still the odd mackerel are taking floating live baits and small slugs. Early morning has been the better bite.

The Sandy Straits are producing a feed of whiting with flathead along the bank edges on soft plastics and dead baits. Around the entrance of the Urangan Marina look for trevally, flathead, whiting and bream on the flood tide.

The creeks and rivers have produced a few salmon on large flesh baits and soft plastics. The rocky outcrops and creek mouths have bream in numbers with flathead on fresh baits. Morning and afternoon are the best times.

On the wider reefs snapper are starting to turn up in good numbers with a mixed bag of reef fish. They are still a little patchy on the inshore reefs. Both soft plastics and fresh baits are working.

With this colder snap the freshwater scene has been pretty much shut down until late afternoon, with a few reports of bass being taken.
