Well the old northerly winds have again hit, limiting some fishing. The hot news is that jacks have arrived early in the Burrum River, with one happy, or maybe unhappy, fella this morning having to replace four lures.

The other place that has fired in the last couple of days has been the Urangan Pier, with a number of broad barred mackerel, along with northern bluefin tuna, golden trevally, queenfish, school mackerel mac tuna and the humble whiting being taken. In the creeks, flathead have been hitting soft plastics.

Those chasing barra should head to Monduran where the action has been hot.
