October is a busy month for me with many anglers looking to play with our pelagic’s.The marlin run will be interesting this year as there is a lot of focus on it these days so watch this space.

Snapper were a regular catch through September which made for some great light tackle sport fishing, the mac tuna have also started to turn up and are scattered throughout the bay. With the mac tuna, longtails are also about with some good sessions on the surface and fish to 24 kg landed on board with us. On the windy days we took shelter in the flats and estuaries targeting flathead, bream and grunter. The average flathead size is a little down this year but hard work got the rewards of some nice fish.

As we look forward to October the bay will begin to come alive with more surface activity along with our black marlin Run later in the month and into November. Spotted mackerel will also arrive within 6 weeks or so and that will bring some bait ball fun for my guests.

Bookings are very busy this year but if you wish to get prime dates for 2016 please be in touch via email to secure your dates
