Report Thur 15th June 06

Post by Brad » Fri Jun 16, 2006 2:26 am

The wet and windy conditions that have faced us in the past week have deterred boaties so reports have been few and far between. Bream have been coming on the bite with the colder conditions coming through. The pier is a great spot as well as the rock wall at Urangan Harbour. Mullet or fowl gut, hardiheads or small soft plastics have been the best baits.

Winter Whiting are still around in small schools out from Dundowran Beach and Gatakers Bay. They have been getting a few at the NU2 beacon as well.

The headlands have been fishing reasonably well, with flathead, trevally, tailor and dart. The windy conditions have made it unpleasant for fishing the gutters along the beach. The best option would be trying for a whiting or two in the low tide gutters. Beach travel is very good at the moment and the weed is minimal.
