Well, the days just keep passing by, as does the weather - sun, wind and rain during the week. It has made it hard to head offshore, so again most anglers have been restricted to the dams and rivers.

Over the past week some great fish have come out of the river. Some good salmon and grunter have been taken from the deeper holes. The flathead are still thick throughout the river. Targeting them on soft plastics has been a favoured method.

There's also some good bream still about and a few good sized whiting. Around the river mouths the odd tailor and mackerel are still getting about. Trolling small chrome lures or pillies is the go.

The barra up in Monduran are starting to really fire up with some good fish reaching 87cm being reported during the week. The fish are hanging in the shallow bays and are quite active, so a good twitching action on your lures should get them excited. The B52's and Tropic Anglers are the hot sellers this week.

The bass have been a bit fussy this week. The only thing we’ve done really well on has been spinnerbaits around the weed edges, but the fish have been good ones up to 53cm.

Best breezes,
