Weekly Report 25 Nov 11

Post by Brad » Fri Nov 25, 2011 1:17 pm

This week the fishing around the Bundaberg area is off limits due to the Coral Reef Fin Fish Closure. The coastline is producing some large schools of tuna, both mac tuna and the odd northern bluefin, as well as a reasonable run of school mackerel. The mouth of the Burnett river is producing some monster flathead, trevally and small queenfish. The sand flats further up river are also producing some big summer whiting on worms or yabbies. Some of the rock bars and deeper holes have been producing some monster jacks and king salmon. Live-baiting has been a good method for the jacks and salmon, but the best method has been hopping Jackall Tranzam lures through and around the rocks.

Lake Gregory (Isis Impoundment) has been turning on some great bass fishing sessions especially on surface with bass to 50cm being caught regularly.
Till next time, Tim Mulhall
