Weekly Report 26 Nov 13

Post by Brad » Tue Nov 26, 2013 12:09 pm

This week around the Bundaberg area we have some great weather with a lot of boats heading offshore. Most were well rewarded with some great catches of big red emperor, coral trout and sweetlip all being caught. Plenty of spanish mackerel have also been caught by trolling big baits or lures. There are plenty of wahoo, dolphin fish and small black marlin out wide. Trolling small skirted lures is the way to go.

The local rivers and creeks have still been fishing well with quality whiting in good numbers with yabbies and worms being the best baits. There are plenty of big bream and flathead around the gravel beds and rock walls. Soft plastics have been catching their fair share of the fish. Other species being caught include salmon, grunter, tailor and mangrove jacks. The jack have mainly been caught on lures by casting along the rock walls and snags. Queenfish and trevally have been harassing bait balls throughout the Burnett River. These are great sport fish and good fun on light lines.

The Isis Impoundment (Lake Gregory) is fishing well with some great surface lure sessions on big bass. Spinnerbaits along the weed edges have been working on big bass also.

Lake Monduran is still producing a hot barra bite with most of the main points producing fish.
