Weekly Report 1 Dec 13

Post by Brad » Sun Dec 01, 2013 12:12 pm

Offshore fishing has been limited due to weather. Some of the inshore areas have produced some quality fish when weather permits. Snapper and large grunter have been the main catches. The rivers are still producing some fantastic fishing with plenty of jew around the mouths. Upstream, good catches of big grunter and jack have been caught live baiting and luring the deeper holes. Plenty of whiting and flathead have come from most of the sand flats; mainly on the run in tides.

Yabbies and worms have been the favoured baits for whiting however most of the flathead have been caught on soft plastics. There are still plenty of queenfish and trevally about for those wanting to chase a few sportfish on light lines. There has been a sprinkling of prawns about but you will have to work to get a good feed. There are plenty of mud crabs about so dust off the pots and have a go.
