Report Wed 26th Apr 06

Post by Brad » Wed Apr 26, 2006 7:49 pm

Strong winds earlier in the week certainly slowed things down a bit, but things are starting to pick up for a good weekend.

In the rivers the bream have been around in big numbers and some have been up to one kilogram in weight. We have been catching some good numbers of bream on small hard bodies such as Micromins and soft plastics, with Berkley Gulp being the best.

There's still plenty of nice whiting about for those drifting the sand flats. Worms and yabbies have been the best for these.

Around the mouth there are still some tailor and trevally and some good school mackerel. Try trolling spoons and Flasha lures.

Reef fishing has been quiet due to the weather, but who knows for this weekend.

Monduran has been firing with guys landing up to ten barra in a session. Most have come from the shallows using the large floater from Tropic Angler.

Best breezes,
Tim Mulhall
