Report Wed 26th July 06

Post by Brad » Thu Jul 27, 2006 6:27 am

26/7/06
Another week of windy weather has past and kept most boats inshore and in the rivers. A few of the inshore grounds have produced some good snapper and sweetlip and a few school mackerel, just before the sun goes down.

In the river there's been some good winter whiting and they have also been in good numbers out of Burnett Heads. It is also worthwhile floating a pilly out the back while fishing for the whiting, as there have been some good schoolies getting about. Some big sand whiting and flathead have been caught in good numbers. The big bream have still been about in good numbers and have been taking a liking to soft plastics, with the Berkley Gulps being a hot favourite.

The bass have been on the bite with Spinnerbaits being a favourite, cast amongst the weed and slow rolled back out.

A few barra have come out of Monduran this week. The fish are in the shallows and have been caught on B52's and Tropic Anglers large floater in gold and natural.

Best breezes,
