Weekly Report 15 Feb 09

Some good news at last. It looks like there may be a window of opportunity for a fish this week, that is if you don't have a job of course. If you are among the fortunate ones who can nip out for a mid week fish, then offshore would be the place to target. Hardly anyone has been offshore for ages, so the fish won't be gun-shy, that's for sure. There should be reasonable pan-sized reefies around the Keppels, with bigger fish out wide.

There is a small fresh flow coming down the Fitzroy River, so that will wipe out any thought of a barra around Rocky for sure. Coorooman Creek has been fishing very poorly lately, but you never know, it might come good soon. Same goes for Waterpark Creek. A lot of freshwater will be in the system, so you'll need to fish downstream from Kelly's Landing I'd reckon. Could be a few crabs in Corio Bay though as a result of the rain. The beaches north of Yeppoon could be worth a look later in the week as the water clears up.
