There has been some half decent weather for a change lately. It has resulted in a few decent fish being taken around the place. The offshore grunter are firing up north of Yeppoon on the wrecks and the rubble grounds. There have also been some nice Large mouth's mixed up with them too. Mackerel are very patchy, but there are a few schools of decent Spotties moving around the bay chasing the bait schools. Around the Keppel Islands, pan-sized reefies have been on the chew, including grassies, tuskfish anf trout.

A few good sized King threadfin are in the Fitzroy River, but you will need top quality bait and lots of patience. It looks like a reasonable patch of northerlies ahead, so those already on holidays should get some good days fishing in. It would be worth trying the northern beaches for dart and I'd expect to see queenies hunting the headlands. There are still a few decent flathead in the creeks and fishing right in the mangroves will get a few Pikey (black) bream.
