Howdy all from Stanage Bay Marine & Accommodation and the surrounding islands

Sorry about the delay in the fishing reports - camera and computer troubles.

Since our last report we have had a lot of visitors to the area some with fantastic catches both on the reef and inshore and others have returned to their homes without a scale. But thats fishing - in every area - if everyone was able to bring in good catches our logo would be
" gone catching " instead of " gone fishing"

A big hello to "my boys" from strathpine area, the Kingsman family and mates. Finally here is your pic ! The lads had a great time as per usual.

The xxxx gold boys from Bris are here again and jagged good weather - they are keeping everything "mom", i havent seen them yet, no doubt there will be drinks coming up or rather going down.

Regulars Shorty and Sheilla have returned with their family, see the pics of their family with a couple of nice jew. The weather came fantastically calm, so they hit the reef and islands. Good catches of Sweeties were reported at White Rocks, Trout and Reds around Hexham and Allendale islands, whilst the Percy isles have given good catches of Reds, Trout, and Red Jew.

In the sound some of the lads have been trolling for fingermark and barra, some with success and some without.

The crabs have been very patchy ( which is very weird for this time of year ) Remember they shed their shells to grow and mate when soft. When they are mating expect both male and female muddies to be in their holes for up to a week at a time.

Oops! to Shaun who flipped his boat - Tony, Kyle and yours truly got him up right again. Oops ! to Garry ( alias Shonk ) for stepping over the edge of porters creek jetty, when setting a crab pot, only to go splat in the mud below. Oops ! to Jason who left his run too long and sat on a mud bank til after night fall ( thank goodness for flares and radios )

We have had some rain mainly from storms, however not enough to flush the creeks and river system, unlike up north, where they had roads cut.
Our road is still in fairly good repair. The council have added another 5km of bitumen at the start of the road. Everyone says the long haul is still worth it. So any new comer to our beautiful area doesnt get disappointed with their first trip - make sure you turn it into an adventure fishing trip - you will stay happy and always return ok.

We had a huge cancellation for the end of may ( our township fundraising time called "Reef n Beef" which is very popular, with about $40 giving you a three course meal - all you can eat. Profit raised goes to the rescue chopper and coast guard) If you are interested just give us a call or send an email anytime.

Remember we sell all types of bait - bulk buys and pre-ordered - are discounted and delivered to you freezer. If you can please try and shop locally - we are not expensive - believe it or not. We carry a good range of tackle, boating and trailer accessories, we usually can get people out of trouble and safely boating or on the road without too much stress. ( We can only keep doing this though - if you support us, not only in times of trouble ) We also do mailouts or the areas charts, books, and qld rules, so you can study up big before getting here. give us a call.

Don't forget our fantastic little fishing comp at easter - a great Sunday Funday for all the family - and some good prizes.

I managed to get a few pics of the ol camera for you, so til nex time, keep reelin in the big ones - stay healthy and happy

yours in fishing and crabbing
Von and Tony
