BlankHowdy all visitors to Stanage

The road is good with no rain this year to talk of. There is a couple of pot holes and drains. The roos, emus, plain turkeys, swans and gueese are in good supply its wonderful to see nature at its best, now and again you may see a pig. (NO GUNS - NO SHOOTING - NO HUNTING OR DOGS) The cattle sleep on the road at night and in the early hours of the morning so if you are travelling please keep that in mind and be careful. Its always best if you dont know the road or travelling at night, if you are coming from the south to stay at Yaamba at the Royal Oak Hotel/Motel or if coming from the north stay at Marlborough, both places are about 20 minutes drive from the Stanage Bay turn off.

The Thirsty Sound has been really turning it on. Still the muddies are potting, on and off, pending shell shedding and breeding cycles. Steve has been up again catching the usual Barra, last year he along with his team tagged over a thousand, this year he just came up for a quick fish, in no time flat, he along with Dave pulled in 3 nice Barra on Richo lures. ( no surprises there) The boys next door got into the jewfish, grunter and salmon, strange time a year for king salmon. OUTSIDE FISHING whilst not many big boats have been in the area, the ones that have ventured up and out did really well. Around Otterbourne Island came alive with some red Jew...small mouth. The oysters have been nice for a feed on the islands not leased.

Dont forget if you need somewhere awesome to stay, try Pacific Villa or Pacific Oasis, check out the website and get your bait, ice and fuel at Stanage....Help us and we'll help you.
Till next time,
Happy Crabbin n Fishin,
Von Ireland
