Weekly Report 31 Aug 12

Post by Brad » Thu Aug 30, 2012 6:39 pm

It’s that time of year again when the game boats roll into town to join the many local boats in the annual Townsville Billfish Challenge. With the event kicking of Friday and running for four days through until Monday there is sure to be plenty of boats on the water for at least the first 2 days anyway before the winds start to get up. This year is shaping up to be one of the biggest in many years with good reports of marlin and sailfish over the last couple of months bringing boats from near and far to be part of the great event and I wish all the anglers plenty of luck and more importantly plenty of marlin magic.

On the inshore scene the grunter reports have been very good with quality fish in the 60s starting to show up around Cape Cleveland and many of the creeks and rivers around Townsville. Fresh garfish fillets and large prawns have been working well around the changes in the tides. The Hinchinbrook channel has been producing some nice barra on lures and live baits lately and that should only improve as we head into the warmer months. For this weeks Win News fish photos check out our [3]facebook page. Links: 3. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Tackle-Wo ... 2082764595. Sorry for the shortened version this week we will be back to the normal format next week. Hope you all have a great weekend and catch plenty of fish.
