Weekly Report 31 Jan 14

Post by Brad » Fri Jan 31, 2014 2:48 pm

It’s that time of year again when the barra gear is dusted off and the lure trays checked to make sure it is still all were you left it last year. Although we have not seen enough rain to get the weirs cranking and the lagoons and many of the usual barra haunts flowing there should still be plenty of opportunities to hit you favourite saltwater spots with just enough rain in recent days to get the barra at least a little keen for a feed. Flicking or trolling a few lures should produce fish while live baits should also account for plenty of fish also. This time of year the big baits like live mullet are ideal.

With the little bit of rain we have just had (fingers crossed there is more to come this month) there should be some nice crabs around so make sure you put out a few pots. Apart from that there is very little else to report this week with big seas as a result of "Dylan" there was little to no chance of getting offshore or even onto the bay. If you find your gear is a little run down or you just would like to get some new gear for the season then there is no time like the present we have plenty of red hot deals on barra gear including plenty of reels, rods and lures like halco, RMG, Gold Bomber, Classics and the entire squidgy range. This sale will run through February or until sold out.

For up to date info on fishing around the Townsville region make sure you check out our facebook page. Sorry for the shortened version this week let's hope there is plenty to talk about next week with better weather and hopefully plenty of fish. Hope you all have a great weekend and catch plenty of fish.
