Even though the weather is a little unsettling at the moment the fishing was impressive over the Christmas and New Year period. Below is an outline of what fish have been biting in recent times.

Beach:
Blue salmon, queenfish, tarpon, small permit and black reef tip and spinner sharks.

Rivers & Creeks:
Grunter, mangrove jack, fingermark, queenfish and
Barra.

Inshore Reefs:
Cral trout and grassy sweetlip.

Outer Reef:
Coral trout, sweetlip, large mouth nannygai, bludger
and tea-leaf trevally, cobia, giant trevally and a few rogue Spanish mackerel.

Continental Shelf:
Dolphinfish, wahoo, yellowfin tuna and black marlin to 400lb.

We've received smatterings of rain - just enough to stir things a little and not have an adverse affect. When the winds drop down the fishing should return more favours again. Fishing low light periods is the key to success at the moment. That midday sun is a scorcher at the moment.
