We had a good run for most of the Easter period with some really good reports coming from the outer reef in particular and also from our rivers and creeks. Reef: an abundance of large mouth nannygai, good numbers of small mouth nannygai, red emperor, cobia and trevally. Coral trout were down in numbers as well as mackerel catches. River: good numbers of grunter and trevally. Quite a few barra were snared, the mud crabbing was exceptional on the bigger tides and there are few big queenfish entering on the clean incoming tides. Game: quite on the mackerel front but patches of good sized northern bluefin tuna provided some great action. Unfortunately we are currently experiencing horrible winds, we should have a reprieve over the weekend but there is another high pressure system on its way which could see next week a difficult week to fish.
