The complete turn around with the onset of good weather from the horrific stuff we had for nearly two weeks hasn't necessarily equated into better catches. Variable winds not often associated with this time of year has made the fishing tough with currents sometimes running in opposite directions to anchorages whether it be river or reef. The pelagic scene offshore also took a back seat to a lesser degree. In saying this the immediate forecast returns to a more predictable SE wind and things should improve in the coming week. Recent catches include: River - trevally, tarpon, mangrove jack, bream Reef - coral trout, nannygai, reef mangrove jack, sweetlip Pelagic: Spanish mackerel, longtail tuna and small black marlin activity.
