Unfortunately the weather has turned pear shaped up here in the tropics and we have received copious amounts of rain and the wind is very fresh. This has reduced angling efforts back into the creeks and rivers where the action has been slow.

Best reports to file through have included plenty of jacks amongst the snags but no real size about them. There have been a few solid grunter taken on the flats but this is in between small sharks and shovel nose rays.

A bit further north there were good reports of barra taken at the Mossman and Saltwater systems, however pro-netters have also seized upon this opportunity and slowed this progress.

At the moment we are watching a Category 2 cyclone hover north east of our position and hope it keeps heading out into the Coral Sea. Unfavourable boating and fishing conditions are expected for a while longer whilst the cyclone is around. The wet season is well and truly here!
