Weekly Report 28 Apr 12

It has been a mild conclusion to the tail end of the wet season with generally fantastic conditions on the water. There are awesome reports filtering through and some that are very shallow. In current conditions the very best in the business shine through. Small black marlin and yellowfin tuna are on the cards with the right vessel and skipper on the light tackle scene. Secondly red emperor, large mouth nannygai and reasonable catches of coral trout are on the go with only a couple of experienced skippers. The rest are terribly flagging when trying to gain any credibility in a cross over period of the tropical seasons when the experience counts.

Inshore there is one guide which produces the goods on the Daintree River with a variety of fish caught - barra, a few jacks, plenty of golden treavlly and grunter, solid numbers of fingermark, big 1m queenfish on the headlands and smatterings of mackerel species.
