Weekly Report 16 May 12

We are still having to contend with freshening winds but have been able to produce some quality results despite the challenges.

Reef: good run on coral trout in recent days, there's been some striking red emperor landed and finally the Spanish mackerel have arrived. Other species trickling in are legal large mouth nannygai, decent stripeys and some quality spangled emperor. The only downside is that the sharks are rather relentless at the moment crucifying our efforts at some locations.

River: a lot of dirty water has been pushed into our systems reducing water clarity. In saying this there are consistent reports of mangrove jack, bream, estuary cod and at times trevally and the odd barra. There are some good golden trevally and grunter to caught across the flats on the incoming tides of our major river systems and coastal mangrove edges.
