25/8/06 Weekly Report

Offshore: The odd good flathead towards the mouth but they’re not thick yet. Odd school fish with them along with bream and trevally on the bottom of the run out. A few tailor and trevally on the run in and the top of the tide. A few flathead to 70cm around Seagulls. Some jacks starting to stir at Cobaki and the4 rock walls. Water around 21°. Nice whiting on yabbies and worms near Seagulls and around the Piggery. Again, they’re just starting and will improve. Top of the run out is best. Blackfish quiet.
Beaches: Blown out but try Cabarita and Hastings in the corners of the headlands. Some nice whiting in the sheltered spits.
Offshore: Some nice fish on the 30s and 40s, trag with squire and the odd big snapper in 50 fathoms up north. Get out early and berley. Should also be the odd jew as the moon waxes.
