Estuary: School flathead from a bit over legal to around 65cm in pretty good numbers, also a few to 80cm. Fish are scattered throughout the river sandbars from the mouth to Seagulls, up past Oxley Cove and even to Murwillumbah. Some nice whiting if you can get hold of some worms but pipis are also working. Sand crabs have dropped away a little but the muddies seem to have been stirred by the rain and are being caught in good numbers. Mangrove jacks are firing up and there have been a few school jew around the bridges as well.
Beaches: Pretty quiet with the northerlies but you’ll find a few whiting banks in the sheltered areas and you’ll also pick up dart and bream there.
Offshore: Boats are just starting to get working again and there should be a few snapper and cobia about. The odd cobia and dog mackerel at Palm Beach. Out wide for a few pearlies and squire. Mostly rat kings and the occasional bigger one on the trawler wreck off Cabarita.
