Offshore: A lot of big kings out on the 30- and 40-fathom reefs. A few cobia and school sharks at Palm Beach no mackerel at this stage. Squire around the island and down around Kingscliff. Plenty of tide is making it harder to fish anywhere on the deeper grounds. Some good squire around the Mid Hole and Fidos, the odd mahi mahi and mackerel tuna on the surface.
Estuary: School flathead in fair numbers from the flats from behind Seagulls, Cobaki and up to Murwillumbah. Some quite good whiting around Seagulls and the golf club with smaller fish mixed in. Mud crabs are starting to crawl but the sandies are moving out of the river. Good trevally at the top of the tide after dark around the hospital on poppers and herring.
The headlands have a few bream and the sandy gutters have whiting and smallish flathead.
