Weekly Report 7/3/08

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Mar 07, 2008 12:54 pm

Offshore: Some snapper today (Fri) but most of the boats haven’t reported in yet apart from those who caught some yellowfin and mackerel tuna with the very odd Spaniard. No spotties at Palm Beach.
The river has some nice bream along the walls at the mouth and upstream, a few nice whiting around Oxley Cove and behind Seagulls. Crabs a bit quiet. Trevally down towards the mouth and only the odd jack about.
Beaches: Heaps of small tailor around the northern end but better fish down around Black Rock, especially at night on cut bait. A few big dart in the gutters with the odd whiting and a few bream around the headlands, where you’ll also score mack tuna chasing frogmouthed pilchards.
