Weekly Report 15/8/08

Tonnes of blackfish around in all the usual haunts but weed could be an issue. A few flathead with some bigger fish around the mouth and school lizards further up. A few good bream around the mouth with a lot of smaller fish mixed with them. The odd tailor from the mouth on the bottom of the run in tide. .
Beaches have a few nice tailor from Kingscliff south with Black Rock and Hastings Point good. A lot of bait just pushing up the coast so there should be some good times coming. Some bigger tailor further south. A few bream around the headlands but nothing migrating up by the sound of it.
Offshore there are plenty of squire, odd knobby on the 30s and 40s with occasional waves of jackets. Pearlies, samson and kings. Hot and cold around the island with barely legal squire one day and a couple of knobs and a cobia or two the next. Water is around 19°.
