Weekly Report 29/1/10

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Jan 29, 2010 4:27 pm

A few mackerel, spots and Spanish, in all the usual haunts like Palm Beach, Mermaid, the Nine Mile, Fidos and the rest. Plenty of current so not much in the way of bottom fishing.
Beaches have a few tailor from Kingscliff down to Hastings Point, plus dart and some reasonable whiting.
The river has slowed a little but still some smaller flathead on the banks with the odd better fish towards the mouth. Plenty of trevally, both bigeye and GTs around a kilo around the start of the run-in tide. Whiting a bit scratchy with some fisn on lures and bait if you can find a spot that hasn’t been netted. More sand crabs than muddies this week.
