24/2/06 Weekly Report

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Feb 24, 2006 5:28 pm

Too much swell for the rocks, beach and offshore. The river is still good for whiting around the sandbank edges and up towards Tumbulgum on live worms and yabbies. Still plenty of school lizards on the boat harbour and the sandbars in the upper reaches and behind Seagulls. Down around the mouth there are a few trevally on poppers and a few bream on bait off the end of the wall. The odd jewfish worth pursuing around the end of the wall on live bait but plenty of sharks. Crabs continue to go berserk with heaps around Tumbulgum and around the Rous River. Also try up Bilambil Creek. There have been great whiting at North Kirra and nearby beaches before the swell but who knows now.
