Report 3/10/14

Post by subeditor » Fri Oct 03, 2014 11:21 am

Flatties have been getting around with Fingal, Barneys Point bridge and Tumbulgum turning up the goods.
Oxley Cove and the anchorage have seen good numbers of whiting, which are great for a feed.
Sand crabs have been prevalent throughout the river and school-sized mulloway are being taken by dedicated anglers around Tumbulgum bridge.

Around the mouth the tailor and various trevally have been providing entertainment for people who like a bit of line-burning action. Also present are healthy schools of kingfish, which at their modest size have been testing anglers’ tackle with their hard runs and dogged determination.

Outside the mouth the snapper and pearlies are being taken at the 50s fathom mark and out at Fidos it’s a mix of trag jew and snapper.
