Report 26/2/15

Post by subeditor » Thu Feb 26, 2015 1:40 pm

Starting in the river, the mangrove jacks are still going strong after the influx of fresh with good fish being taken on live bait around structure and the bridges.
The bass have been biting very well with the sudden rise in water level, and all the usual creeks and hot spots have been fishing well.
The mouth has been producing its usual serve of trevally and kingfish, and now the tailor are starting to move in as well.
There’s been no reports of crabs so far after the storm, so we’re still waiting.

Along the beaches, it’s been fairly quiet, save for a few jew along the Kingscliffe wall and around the mouth of the river.

Out wide there’s been a few spotties getting around but for the most part it’s been fairly quiet.
Anglers have had trouble getting out wide due to the weather, so very limited reports have been coming through from out wide.
