Report 18/6/15

Post by subeditor » Thu Jun 18, 2015 1:06 pm

Starting in the river, there’s been a heap of blackfish. Most rock walls nd bridges seem to have them, and traditional methods have been cleaning up.
Good size flathead are starting to show up in most locations, with soft plastics and live baits taking most of the fish.
Bream are schooling up hard, and 40cm fork length fish haven’t been uncommon.
School jewfish are getting about, but the netters seem to be getting the majority of the share…

Outside, pearlies at the 36-fathom line have been filling anglers’ bags, and fish to 5kg have been making it into bags, with most anglers bagging out.
The Mudhole has seen god numbers of squire, with the odd knobby to make a session more exciting.
Kingfish and yellowfin have kept the pelagic brigade on their toes, and most inner reefs have seen good numbers.

Along the beaches it’s been a but quiet, but the tailor at Kingscliff have been a good option for those wanting to scratch the itch, and spinning metals of fishing ganged pillies is working.
