Starting offshore, the fishing has been god when anglers have been able to get out for a fish.
yellowfin have been the focus out at 9-mile, with spotted and Spanish mackerel starting to show up in better numbers just off Kingscliffe.
Dollies are being taken regularly out at the FAD, just be sure to try get out early, as these areas get hit fairly hard by other anglers.
The juvenile black marlin have turned up in good numbers, and further out, bigger blacks are being taken wide of the 50s.
Jigging for kingfish around the 36s has been very popular in the last few weeks, with plenty of barrel class kingies coming over the side.

In the river, there's been plenty of decent big-eye trevally getting around along the rock wall at the mouth and every so often some rat sized kingies or amberjack will show up to.
There's been a heap of mangrove jack hitting livies and lures with venom at night, particularly on the run-out The river's many bridges seem to be the best areas to concentrate your effort.
Flathead fishing is still running hot, with the Piggery and Jupitors hole showing promise for those throwing soft plastics around the sand banks.
Whiting are in top form up on the sand flats, mainly on the rising tide, and surface lures are a great performer at this time of year.
There's plenty of muddies for the crabby minded, so remember to pack the pots!

The beach front has been quiet. There's been a few whiting and dart taken along main beach at Kingscliffe, with the odd jewie at Back Beach as well.
Luderick have been a fairly frequent catch at Kingscliffe creek, but size has been lacking in the models caught recently.
