Offshore out around the FAD there have been heaps of small dollies. Good Spanish mackerel have been coming from off the back of Kingscliff Reef and inside of 9 Mile and Middle Reef. We’re also seeing schools of small yellowfin off the back of 9 Mile, and small blacks on the 36 fathom line.

In the river they’ve been getting juvenile kingfish and amberjack, as well as some decent mulloway off the ends of the walls.

Boyds Bay Bridge and Barneys Bridge are fishing well for big-eye trevally, while Tumbulgum Bridge and Cobaki Bridge are fishing well for jacks.

We’ve been seeing good whiting around Black Watch and the Piggery on surface lures.

On Main Beach, Kingscliff anglers are picking up a few small tailor and dart, and Back Beach has been yielding the odd jew. Anglers have been getting some good jewies from Hastings Point as well.
