Report 17/3/16

Post by Nicole Penfold » Thu Mar 17, 2016 3:31 pm

Outside there are some small blacks on the 50 fathom line, and kings and Spaniards around 9 mile reef. Some small yellowfin have been coming off the back of 9 mile as well.

There are good jewies in the river mouth at the moment, and anglers are also having fun on juvenile kings and amberjack near the boat harbour.

We’re getting reports of big flathead at the Cotton Trees, and some big-eye trevally at Boyds Bay Bridge and Barneys Point Bridge.

Good whiting have been coming from Ukerebagh and Cobaki Lakes

Jacks are being caught at the boulders at Chinderah and also at Oxley Cove rock wall.

Not much to report from the beaches, just the occasional small tailor off the back of Back Beach, Kingscliff and the odd dart. There are still a few decent bream around from Main Beach, Kingscliff down to Dreamtime.
