Starting offshore, anglers are really getting into the local snapper, with some specimens reaching 9kg. The close in reefs like the Mudhole and Fidos have been the most consistent producers.
Moving out a bit further, pearlies have been filling eskies out at the 50s for those willing to venture out.
Kingies have bee stretching arms for those dropping livies and jigging off the back of 9-mile and Kingscliff reef, and the odd Spanish is still turning up.

In the river, school jew are in good numbers around the Boyds Bay and Barneys Point bridges, particularly around the tide turns.
Flathead are a great option at this time of year, and Terranora has been giving up these guys in bulk. Casting or trolling hardbodies and soft plastics along sand banks will almost always catch you a feed.
Blackfish numbers are booming along Drydock Road and under the Boyds Bay bridge, and some thumping big bream have shown up around Jack Evans boat harbour, with some also scattered along the Fingal strech near the boat ramp.
Anyone wanting a feed of winter whiting should head to the Piggery, with some great reports coming from here in recent weeks.

Along the beaches, dart and tailor are in healthy numbers for this time of year off Hasting Point, but if you're keen for a jew, Cabarita beach seems to b the place to head.
