15/6/06 Weekly Report

Estuary: A few tailor and some big trevally at the river mouth on the rising tide. Nice lizards all over the creek: Behind the airport, Seagulls, the hospital and the golf club. They’re good fish up to 80cm. Blackfish are patchy but there if you work hard. Bream have petered out a bit but they should improve as the moon wanes.
Beaches: Biggest tailor down south from Hastings to Ballina on cut bait or gar; choppers around North Kirra and Palm Beach. A few school jew also in the surf gutters if you’re lucky. You’ll have to work for the bream but there are a few around.
Offshore: Some nice pearlies in the 30-fathom reefs before the blow set in, also a few parrot and squire with the odd big king.
