Report 21/10/16

In the river, the summer species are starting to put on a show. The whiting are becoming a more common catch on the flats at high tide, and Stotts has been a good starting point.
The jack action has been heating up with the weather, and any of the bridges is a good place to try your luck with soft plastics or live bait.
The usual pack attacks from small pelagics like trevally, tailor and small kingfish have been common occurrences around the mouth recently.
Further upriver, the bass action should be at its finest, with the cicadas singing most evenings.

Outside the build up to the mackerel season has already begun, with reportings of captures starting to come in. With them should be the wahoo. Last pelagic season was nuts, so don't miss this one!

The beaches have been quiet, with only the odd jew coming off the headlands.
