After the bad weather anglers have been getting to the closer reefs and getting snapper at Fidos, Mud Hole and the back of Cook Island. There have been some Spanish mackerel caught on stickbaits at Nine Mile and off Kingscliff.

Hastings Point has been yielding some school jew and small tailor.

There's been a gutter near the sand pumping jetty at Fingal Beach where locals have been getting some tailor.

There are tailor at the river mouth and around the Cotton Trees, and some trevally as well.

In the middle reaches we're seeing a few winter whiting caught on yabbies.

Anglers have been getting blackfish around Dry Dock Road and Boyds Bay Bridge.

There are some decent size flathead being caught from Jouberts Hole and Tumbulgum Bridge.
