14/7/07 Weekly Report

A few chopper tailor at Palm Beach with fish mainly 30-35cm. The mouth of the river has bream and tailor on pillies. A few better bream to a kilo from the mouth and along the rocky points. Flathead on plastics on the edges of the banks behind Seagulls, the golf club and the Cobaki area. And even a few big mud crabs making a showing. Some nice whiting also moving about. Blackfish at the favourite spots but they’re not that thick.
Beaches not too bad with some big tailor down south but they’re shy, even at night. As the moon wanes they should come on again. Also some nice jew and plenty of dart.
Offshore for a few jew on the close reefs. Some nice knobbies and good squire in close as well, with jew and parrot out wider. Heaps of pillie schools off Southport and cobia and tuna have been into them, so a trip up north could work out well.
