Report 13/4/17

As you'd expect, things have been pretty tough after the flood. A few guys have been getting a couple of bream and flathead in the lower reaches fishing the run-up tide. We're just starting to get a bit of clean water in. Brightly coloured soft plastics or pillies slow rolled across the bottom have accounted for most fish.

There are a few luderick being taken on most tides using peeled prawn and yabbies in the dirty water. They're being caught in the lower reaches of the main river and North Creek.

There are some sharks and jew coming from the breakwalls.

The beaches are pretty quiet. You have to get away from the mouth of the river to have any chance. A few flathead and the odd tailor have been coming from 7 Mile Beech at Lennox and South Ballina Beach.

A few muddies are starting to pop up in the creeks but it's pretty quiet given the flood. Virtually nobody's been outside.

On the upside, the next week or two should see the water clear up and things should get a lot better.
