11/8/06 Weekly Report

Post by Tony Zann » Fri Aug 11, 2006 12:21 pm

A lot of jewfish around the walls on Halco hard lures and Storm soft ones, according to Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop. A few bream and the odd tailor in the washes around the walls as well and the jew are kicking through to the lower reaches of the river, especially after dark.
Some bream in the river, still smallish but increasing in numbers. Whiting improving. Blackfish quiet in North Creek but they’re going OK along the seawalls and the Porpoise Wall. A few small school jew from Pimlico to Wardell. Last reports say jackets are still in numbers out wide and a few squire on the closer reefs.
I can’t say anything about Evans Head because when I left on Wednesday the sea was still huge and there wasn’t much beach to speak of.
