Weekly Report 25/08/07

Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop says the weather’s not too hot and there’s a fair bit of colour in the estuary. Quite a few fish around the walls and the Town Reach with plenty of bream and blackfish but they’ve turned to smell baits like gut and dead yabbies. Good whiting to 800g also poking around as well. Tailor have been quiet but everyone’s out chasing jew from the walls and headlands on lures, livies and plastics. No outside reports, the swell is about 3-4m, so polish your boat instead!
Fat swell at Evans closing out the beaches and the bar but the walls at high tide have a good smattering of bream and blackfish. No reports of jew so far but they shouldn’t be too far away and the evening tide should tell the story. Try mullet chunks for the bream or maybe some yabbies for whiting and weed or yabbies for the blackfish. Not much colour in the water in the river with a few bream and whiting around the bridge and the old boat ramp.
