Mandy from Dave’s Bait Shop says the wider offshore grounds have fished well for snapper and pearlies. The beaches still have the odd tailor and some nice bream.
In the river there have been jewies from the walls on lures and bait. Whiting showing very well up around Pimlico-Wardell. Good-sized flatties through the river.
At Evans Head there have been some good snapper and jew offshore with some hits of trag and the odd pearl perch as well. The beaches have bream, dart and whiting with school jew after dark up around Broadwater. Bream and jew from the headlands.
Plenty of blackfish in the river but they’re hard to tempt because of the clear water. Also a few nice bream getting about below the bridge, with flatties well upstream. Whiting showing above the bridge.
