Bruce at Dave’s Bait Shop the whiting and flathead are increasing in numbers as the water warms further. Whiting are going quite well around Pimlico island on a rising tide as long as you use bloodworms for bait. Quite good numbers of small school jew from the Burns Point ferry through to Wardell with 4kg about the top weight but the numbers are there.
Beaches have a few whiting and flathead with still the odd dreaded salmon around the place.
A few boats got out wide during the week for snapper and pearl perch but the forecast isn’t that hot for the weekend.
Not much has changed at Evans Head over the past week. Water along the beaches and around the headland is still a murky khaki, although seems to have warmed slightly. There are reasonable bream and dart and the occasional whiting along with unconfirmed reports of school jew. Some flathead in the river along with the occasional whiting but not much of great note.
Offshore has improved slightly with a few more snapper knocking around along with the occasional patch of trag.
