Mandy at Dave’s Bait Shop says flathead are prevalent throughout the lower river. Up Pimlico way they’re still catching whiting despite the fresh. A few mud crabs showing in the dirty water. Not a great number of bream have been caught but we’ll know more about that after the Gamakatsu Teams Series event on Sunday.
South Ballina Beach still has a few salmon along with some bream. No outside reports. Not a lot of bream have been caught
A bit of an onshore slop at Evans Head on Friday, as there has for most of the week. A handful of boats have gone out through the week for some fair snapper and the odd patch of trag, with unconfirmed whispers of a catch of spotted mackerel at some stage over the past week, depending on who you listen to.
Beaches have a few whiting and bream and there have been some small school jew around the rocks.
Whiting also in the river along with some fair flathead.
