Brett at Ballina Bait and Tackle says beaches have some tailor and bream.
A few jew out on the wall but the river water has gone a little dirty, coming in clean on the rising tide to about the sailing club. Bream from the mouth up to the ferry and in North Creek up as far as Prospect Bridge. Flatties around Pimlico before this fresh with the odd school jew.
Ordinary conditions at Evans Head with a brisk southerly and the odd rain squall on Friday morning. A few bream in the surf and there were plagues of undersized tailor from the rocks and beaches before the weather changed. Also some flathead and the occasional school jew up the beach.
Nobody has been offshore for a few days but before that the odd spotted mackerel, mack tuna and squire with teraglin mostly undersized. Out wider for pearlies and snapper but not much chance for those for a while.
Still good bream and some whiting in the river and blackfish likely to fire up around the walls on the morning high tide.
